What exactly is a Shyre, and why is it special?
The shyre is a site pet that isn't just created like other pets. This pet is special and is in the same category of pets as the Caribyss. You must catch one in order to own one.
Well, you may now wonder, how do I get one?
How to get a Shyre is a multi-step process. :)
You can't just expect catching a horse to be minimum work! Shyres are strong and ellusive.
First you must go Ice Fishing in the Blizzard's Realm. You are attempting to catch one of these:
A Tasty Carrot. These carrots will be the bait for your Shyre. You take this once you catch it to Blizzard's Realm again and find an area called, Wood Wraith where you cast your carrot out into the snow.
You have to check back periodically to see if your bait has tempted in a Shyre of your very own!
* The color in the name of your Tasty Carrot, will
determine your Shyre's initial coloring.
How long does it take for my Shyre to arrive, or be, "caught"?
The time varies.
It would be safe to assume at least 24 hours,
however, should you hit 72 hours, and not see
your new pet, please contact a member of admin.
Is catching a Tasty Carrot the only option to having this pet?
No.
You can purchase a Tasty Carrot from another member,
or a member shop, if you are lucky.
And, if someone was generous enough, you may find
one in the Ruins as well.
But, setting a Tasty Carrot into Wood Wraith is the only way
to get the Shyre you want.
However, during a select time very limited stocks of Essences and Poppets can be found in the Credit Shop under some occasions.
Also if you are really lucky a Shyre essence can be fished up also!
You said setting a Tasty Carrot in Blizzard's Realm is the only way to get a Shyre.
Does that mean I cannot adopt one, or find one in the pound?
Yes.
That is exactly what that means.
A Shyre cannot be adopted out, or transferred to another account.
If a member should want to let go of their pet Shyre, the only
option, is to release it back into Wood Wraith and let it go.
Can Pandoria Boxes and Toadstools be used on a Shyre?
Yes they can.
As long as the desired color/theme has
been released on site already.
