Pirate Day!
The Voyage of Captain Jack
(September)
-Theme-
The Capt'n Jack holiday roughly coincides with the real life "Talk like a Pirate Day". This is an annual event which occurs every September.
-Items-
The items are all pirate-themed. Some examples can be found below. Some years, these items can be obtained from that trickster Makoto.
(Chocolate Pirate Coins, White Skull Bandana, First Mate Doll, Shaggy Orange Pirate Beard, Spyglass)
-Characters-
Captain Jack Skillow
This haruba returns every year with a new loot that he offers his fellow Misticans via Skillow Island or Makoto. He is generally good-natured, but be careful. One can never know what pirates have up their sleves.
Makoto
A minor character in this plot, Makoto still somehow ends up with some of Capt'n Jack's loot in his store. But whether the pirate gives it to him or he takes it, none are too sure.
-Special Events-
Skillow Island
Skillow Isle is Capt'n Jack's personal island that he runs very similar to the Ruins. He hides some of his loot within the sands and allows questing Misticans to take their chances at digging up some burried riches.
-Recaps-
2008 (September 19th - Septamber 21st)
2008 was the first year Capt'n Jack made port and shared his goods with the rest of Mistica. He sent out his goods to the shopkeepers of Mistic and gave the membres clues as to where various goods were stocking. At the end of the event, there was an avatar competition with a pirate theme.
2009 (September 19th - Septamber 21st)
The famous pirate returned in 2009 as expected, brining in new treasure and carrying out the old. He sent out pirate pinatas via Random Event and entrusted Makoto with selling his new loot. He left once again with a final farewell gift of some old pirate maps in the giveaway.
2010 (September 17th - September 22nd)
Capt'n Jack returned again this year with the opening of Skillow Isle and a new loot, including beards, glass eyes, and bandanas. Treasure chests also appeared via Random Event for some lucky Misticans.
2011 (September 19th - September 24th)
Capt'n Jack returned in 2011 as a guest of the Royal Wedding (Sprite & Imp Plot). On his ship, he brought back old favorites as well as some new items and clothing for the legendary system.
2012 (September 19th - October 9th)
Captain Jack returns for 2012 just in time for the brand new opening of Sango Reef and to discover a new species, the Risylki. He arrives only to find that Officer Coppa has been having problems trying to root out some smugglers. The witty haruba agrees to help out but once again releases his items and pirate pinata’s via random event for the lovely members of Mistica to enjoy in the meantime. Captain Jack decides to enter the fight when he realized his beloved cargo to sell to the Mistica members has been stolen from his own ship! From there he sets sail to the Sango Reef and joins Officer Coppa in the fight against Monty, the mob boss trying to take over the reef. The next day all of Mistica joined together in the fight against Monty and his crew with the new release of the battle system. Everyone fought hard together including Captain Jack to protect the Sango Reef and eventually won victory. He stayed around for a bit longer to insure the safety of the reef, and gain further profit on his new items, before finally leaving right around the time a new pet was introduced to Mistica, the Caribyss, that could be caught at the reef.
2013 (September 19th - September 23rd)
Ahoy mateys! Captain Jack came back this year with new treasures. Deep in the night he snuck in a few new beauties to be buried in Skillow Isle. Members got to dig every 60 minutes to find some of his new items. Along with him to enjoy the fun he managed to bring the Oceanic Risylki. He managed to spread out a ton of new items throughout the shop keepers to make sure they too were celebrating. He gave the Royal Gardens some new seedlings, stocked a few new items in Sango Reef along with the regular shops. As members waved goodbye to their beloved Captain Jack another pet decided to bid a farewell to the loved Captain. The Oceanic Aetra apeared and waved his goodbyes as once more our fellow pirate sailed off into the sunset only to return next year.
